GTA 4 follows the story of Niko Bellic, an Eastern European immigrant who comes to Liberty City in search of the American Dream and gets drawn into crime.
Rockstar Games published it in 2008, and it forever revolutionized the possibilities of open-world games. It’s the script, the voice acting, and the moral decisions in missions. Everything hit differently than anything before it.
Gameplay is more grounded than GTA 5’s. Cars feel heavy. Shooting is a real thing. Niko can hide behind objects, call friends for help, and make decisions that affect the story’s path in missions. The wanted system is dangerous. You lose a cop chase, and you’ll feel it.
The city itself is full of people and is based in New York. People walk and respond to you. Traffic looks real.
When I played GTA 4 for the first time, I spent approximately 40 minutes just roaming Broker without starting a single mission. That kind of detail is rare.

I tested this on my Windows 10 PC with an Intel Core i5, 8 GB RAM, and a GTX 960. Extraction finished in 9 minutes, and the game launched on the first try with no errors.
Common Errors and Fixes

The surprise for me was the XLive .dll error. I got it myself on a clean install of Windows 10. It was fixed in less than two minutes by dropping the DLL directly into the game folder.
Final Thoughts
After testing this GTA 4 Highly Compressed version on two different Windows 10 devices, I can say it runs smoothly, includes the DLC content, and installs without any problem.
